Principle architect of this specialty retailer’s go-forward enterprise application infrastructure. Initially a catalog retailer of designer furniture, this business sought expansion by developing cash and carry retail stores selling designer accessories.

Significant Contributions:

  • Architected a multi-channel retail application architecture to support point of sale & order management, merchandise management, warehouse & distribution operations, and core financials.

  • Successfully managed Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP/Financials project to go-live ready. Successfully kept project under budget.

  • Introduced and oversaw development of an ESB-like integration architecture built on Microsoft BizTalk. Reduced rigid and difficult to maintain point-to-point, script based integrations.

  • Managed team of 5 developers and business analysts. Managed and coordinated enterprise application vendors and related consultants.

  • Established coding standards and SDLC practices. Mentored staff in best practices and maintaining business focus.

  • Successfully managed integration development and implementation of a third party gift card program into legacy ERP system.

  • Instituted regular monitoring and base-lining of legacy MS-SQL/VB.net/C# based ERP & WMS systems.

  • Successfully orchestrated and performed migration of company web store from unsupported, legacy Oracle 8.1.6/Solaris 7 based system to Oracle 10g/Windows Server 2003 system.

Steven is a superior leader. He is a seasoned IT professional that draws on his experience and the experience of others to achieve the organization's objectives. […] He played a key role in renegotiating a critical business re-engineering initiative, developed a sourcing strategy for legacy applications, oversaw the implementation of application instrumentation, and fulfilled the role of mentor to IT team members outside his reporting accountabilities.”
